Mount Humphrey

Greetings from the highest toilet in Arizona. Yes, I made it back from our hike. It was a little longer than we had planned....9.6 miles instead of the 8 miles we had thought. Note that Mount Humphrey's peak elevation is 12,633 ft. The elevation at the toilet is only 11,500 ft. That means a lot of rocky terrain ahead with no place to go potty! AND the toilet is at the top of the ski lift which is NOT on the Humphry trail.

We owe some unknown ranger about $3000 dollars for going off the trail, but it wasn't our fault! Sometimes that trail was hard to find because you had to climb up and over rocks to see where to go...

Perspective. It's so hard to show you how very high we were! Those itty bitty trees at the bottom of the picture are really DANG tall!

Things we saw on our hike...

*Flagstaff Boys Swim Team running down the trail in their boxers... not pretty!
*Alabama Guys...part of the High Pointers Club. www.highpointers.org
*Red Shirt Guy who got us lost for a minute. He had done this trail 15 times before!
*Spitting Guy...I won't elaborate.
*Lots and lots of other friendly hikers.
*Squirrels that threw pinecones at us.
*Hikers carrying up gallon jugs of water?!(In their hands...)(In plastic jugs?)
*Kissing couple.
*Crystalized rock where the lightining hits on the top.
*Trash cans mounted on skiis.
*And words can't describe this last one. Not sure what happened here....

Congratulations!! I love the pictures. I would claim the bra but that wouldn't fool anyone.

I'm jealous!! You are going to have to do that hike again after I have the baby. I'll carry him in a pack!

Great job on the hike Stephanie! I loved your list of things that you saw! It took me a minute before I realized what you took a picture of in the tree...someone had a lot of fun there! :) Not only should you take photography classes, but you should take writing classes...you are just about the most entertaining writer in the universe! Your next project should be a BOOK!
