A's project she really did do on her own. She researched this kid, Mckay Hatch. He is a 14-year-old who started a "No Cussing Club". We saw him on Leno and told her about him. I even caved in and bought her the club t-shirt for her oral report.

T's 5 project's were a different story.... I helped a lot!!!
What I learned from this was that catapult is a four letter word. We... I mean T... built 4 different models, six total times.

The last time I ended up with a blister the size of a pinenut on my pinky finger. (Thought this was learning for the kids??? WRONG!) I think it's an evil plan from the teachers to give me more gray hair!

J helped T figure out how to make the shield and sword. They melted a black staff over the BBQ to get the base of the sword. Then cut out cardboard, used a TON of duct tape. Covered that in tinfoil, then clear tape, then added the blue paper.

The shield some Legend of Zelda fans would recognize as Link's Master Shield from the Ocarina of Time. Turned out TOTALLY COOL! I think we'll be hanging that on his wall when they are done with it at school.

Well all was said and done, they did turn out really cool. AND the kids were very happy with them.
