Going Out With A Bang!

T had his last time at 11-yr-old Scouts on Tuesday. He and I had been watching "Wing Chun" earlier that day...which is a sub-titled action flick that I enjoy. I left to pick up A from a friend's house before it was over. Apparently it had some movie pre-views on AFTER it ended that were a little disturbing. T didn't say anything about it to me when I got home.

INSERT (This was about 3 hours of time....)

I dropped him off at scouts where he proceeded to freak out and told everyone how he watched a rated R movie and it was horrible.... I get there to pick him up and all kinds of adults are telling me how he was so upset about the "hush wink" rated R movie. I'm thinking.. WHAT?! So I just nodded, got T, and headed for my "van of solitude" so I could figure out what the heck everyone is talking about. After a little prodding I figured out that it was a movie preview. We had a really good talk about why we don't watch those kinds of movies since it really had bothered him so badly. (I also went into the pornography thing... and how hard it is to get those things back out of your head...) Who knew this would be our discussion on his last night as an 11-year old, but there it is.

Wow, I can't believe you let your kids watch R rated movies, that is horrible. =) YOu need to have a lot of talks with him-I can't believe what 5th graders already know-very scary
