Ice Storm

We had an Ice Storm that hit us two weeks ago. The bad part was that the trees still had all of their fall leaves on them. Add 9~12 inches of very slushy snow in one night and you end up with a state that looks like a battle field. It was just so heavy that it crashed down branches, trees, power lines, etc all over the place.



If you look closely you can see that this "branch" that fell down is tangled in the line that runs to our house.



So I did what every loving wife does, took pictures just in case Jerry happened to get electrocuted...





The town ended up cancelling Halloween and re~scheduling it for the next Saturday.



Since the entire town lost power for 5 days...including the schools, Abby's play didn't happen. No power, no practice, no set, etc. Insteaad it's this coming weekend. I think that's reason number 31: your play could be cancelled due to incliment weather?!

On a side note, we were without power for 7 days. AND since our well runs on an electric pump, that meant no running water either. No dishes, no laundry, no showers, no toilets that flush..



One of my personal "saddest tree loss" occured at our public library. Half of their tree just collapsed. I'm afraid they might have to cut down the whole tree, but we'll see what happens.

Guess you don't mess with Mother Nature. She just does her own thing.
